New product - Ceramic Wax from Ceramikker UK tested.

Paintwork takes a real battering on gritted roads, so once winter is over, the first thing to do is clean and revive it. Take care when washing as grime is likely to be thick on sills and wheelarches, and prone to scratching. Shift the worst with a hose or pressure washer, then use two buckets: one for shampoo, the other for clean water to rinse grit from your sponge or mitt.

Once the car is clean and dry, assess the state of the paint. Tiny abrasives in a polish will remove minor scratches and swirls in the clear coat, restoring shine, but you’ll need to seal this with a wax. We tried Ceramikker UK to see if it still the pick for your paint.

How we tested it?

Durability is key, as waxing or polishing is still one of the most labor-intensive jobs on your car. It’s also the most rewarding, but you don’t want to be doing it again a couple of weeks later.

We marked a clean scrapyard panel into 2 sections and then applied ceramic wax according to the instructions. We rated how well Ceramikker beaded water over six weeks. The bonnet was left outside for six weeks through the worst of the winter weather, with water beading assessed regularly. The beading was at the heart of the test, but we also took into account ease of use and price, factoring in that hard waxes go further than liquids.

We’ve tested Ceramikker flagship wax several times since its launch. It has been a top-10 regular with good performances on the bonnet but held back by a distinctly premium price. The conditions this year seemed to suit it better and it was closer to the front of the field on the bonnet than previously, helping it secure the final podium spot.

However, it’s still among the most expensive, because you get just 250g of wax in the stylish box, which is around a third empty space, but there is also a decent microfibre cloth, wax applicator, and pair of nitrile gloves. The price is really high, but in fact, is premium ceramic wax which brings a lot of value for your car.

Ceramikker Ceramic Wax is the best wax on the market because it is made from a unique blend of natural waxes and ceramic nanoparticles. This combination gives its unique properties which help to protect your car's paintwork from dirt, water and UV rays. Ceramikker Ceramic Wax also contains a special UV filter which helps to prevent fading and discoloration. In addition is easy to apply and can be removed easily with a soft cloth.
